Kuching, 28 February 2025 – Tunku Putra-HELP (TPH) has once again secured its International Primary
Curriculum (IPC) accreditation from the International Curriculum Association (ICA), reaffirming its
status as a leader in forward-thinking and inclusive learning experience. The re-accreditation, which is
valid from 2024 to 2028, is a testament to the School’s commitment to providing a dynamic,
engaging, and high-quality learning environment. TPH remains the first and only IPC-accredited
school in Borneo and one of just four accredited schools in Malaysia.

The International Curriculum Association (ICA) is a globally recognised body that accredits schools
implementing the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). The IPC is an internationally respected
curriculum framework that fosters academic excellence, personal development, and
international-mindedness in young learners. Schools that receive this accreditation meet rigorous
global standards and demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement in teaching and
learning.

ICA’s assessment highlighted the exceptional implementation of the International Primary Curriculum
(IPC) at TPH, recognising the school’s commitment to dynamic and engaging learning. Through
inquiry-driven lessons, cross-curricular connections, and interactive teaching strategies, students
develop a deep understanding of concepts while building essential skills for the future.

Beyond its outstanding facilities, ICA commended TPH for its excellence in leadership, teaching, and
community engagement. Teachers were recognised for their proactive involvement in school
operations, ensuring a seamless and effective learning experience. School leaders were praised for
fostering a culture of lifelong learning that extends beyond the classroom. TPH students have
embraced the school’s core values of “Imagine, Believe, Achieve”, demonstrating curiosity and
enthusiasm in their educational journey. There was recognition for well-planned whole-school and
community events that demonstrate the school’s commitment to fostering positive relationships with
Tunku Putra-HELP families.

Milepost Two students held a charity sale as part of the IPC Exit Point raising an incredible RM 4,259.80 for Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society.

Reflecting on this achievement, Ms. Shirley Harrison, Principal of Tunku Putra-HELP, stated, “This

IPC accreditation evaluators Ross Armitage and Kerry Legg commended TPH for its strong
commitment to delivering high-quality, engaging learning experiences that truly embody the
principles of the IPC. Armitage, who is also the Principal of the International Primary and Early Years
at the French International School, Hong Kong, and Legg, who is the Head of Primary at Nexus
International School, Kuala Lumpur, added, “Tunku Putra-HELP’s dedication to fostering a safe,
stimulating, and internationally minded educational environment is commendable, and this
accreditation is a well-earned recognition of their efforts.”

With this renewed accreditation, Tunku Putra-HELP continues to set the benchmark for excellence in
education, solidifying its place as the first and only IPC-accredited school in Borneo and one of just
four in Malaysia. The school remains committed to its mission of nurturing future-ready learners,
