Tunku Putra-HELP School welcomed over 1,600 attendees on Saturday to its highly anticipated Jungle Adventure-themed Family Fun Day, a vibrant community event filled with excitement, exploration, and charity. 

Families from all over Kuching gathered on campus to enjoy a day packed with thrilling activities, mouth-watering food, and memorable experiences, while contributing to a worthy cause. What makes the annual Tunku Putra-HELP Family Day truly special is its focus on community and charity. The event successfully raised approximately RM8,400, with all net proceeds going to the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS), an NGO dedicated to conservation and environmental education in Malaysia.

Attendees enjoyed a lively bazaar, featuring local delicacies, games, and captivating performances. Unique handicrafts and pre-loved items were available for sale, offering the perfect opportunity to discover hidden treasures while supporting MNS’s mission to protect Malaysia & Borneo’s natural heritage.

One of the highlights of the day was the jungle obstacle course, designed by Tunku Putra-HELP students for participants of all ages, and the much-loved glamping experience that transported families into the heart of the jungle. Attendees who embraced the Jungle Adventure theme with their creative outfits also competed in the best-dressed contest, adding an extra layer of fun to the celebration.

Shirley Harrison, Executive Principal of Tunku Putra-HELP School, shared her pride in the event’s success, saying, “Family Fun Day is always a special occasion for us, but this year’s turnout and support from the community exceeded our expectations. It was wonderful to see so many families come together for a day of fun while supporting the incredible work of the Malaysian Nature Society.”

Rose Au Nyat Jun, Chairperson of the Malaysian Nature Society Kuching Branch, also expressed her gratitude, “We are truly thankful for the generosity of the Kuching community and Tunku Putra-HELP School. The funds raised will significantly help our conservation efforts, and we are inspired by the community’s commitment to protecting Malaysia’s rich biodiversity.”

This year’s Family Fun Day was not just about enjoyment but also about fostering a spirit of giving and community involvement. Attendees left with smiles on their faces, knowing they had contributed to a meaningful cause.
