Description

  • Opportunity: Excellent, rapidly growing, not-for-profit school in Malaysia.
  • Experience: Bachelors (Masters preferred), Teaching qualification / certification, At least 3 years of teaching experience. Experience teaching Geography to examination level required, with IGCSE and A-level experience preferred. Previous leadership experience required, with an interest or experience in whole school management strongly preferred. The school will require evidence from previous experience and qualifications of strong leadership.

The role

Tunku Putra-HELP is seeking to employ a Head of Humanities with the ability to teach Geography for July 2022. As the international section is currently quite small, the successful applicant will be managing a small team of 1 teacher per humanities subject, while teaching Geography in the international section.

The school would be very interested in receiving applications from strong middle leaders or senior leaders with knowledge or previous experience in whole school management, i.e. budgeting and timetabling, as the school would like the successful applicant to be involved with the leadership of the international section. The school has a strong chain of management in place to support the successful applicant in developing any additional skills as required.

The successful applicant must be an excellent communicator with the ability to inspire young children, colleagues and parents, and must have high proficiency in Mandarin. Successful applicant must also be capable of planning an appropriate age-related curriculum.
