Providing world-class education in Kuching
Named after the first Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haji, Tunku Putra School was set up by Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad (CMSB) in 1996 as the first international school in Sarawak. 25 years later, the School has grown to over 700 students, represented by 20 nationalities.
In March 2018, CMSB collaborated with the HELP Education Group and Ibraco Berhad, to embark on an exciting journey in educational growth by establishing the Tunku Putra-HELP in Kuching. Located strategically in the NorthBank, Tabuan Jaya, the residential heart of Kuching, the school is equipped with new purpose-built campus that is ready to provide an exceptional learning experience for our students.

We imbue our students with the courage to imagine, the faith to believe, and the strength to achieve.
Our motto not only guides us in our belief but is also embedded in our logo.
The Tunku Putra-HELP education model
We believe that schools must go beyond academic subjects. We aim to equip students with skills needed for the 21st century and enable them to become true global citizens. We encourage our students to explore various areas of development delivered through our holistic curriculum focusing on the following 9 masteries.

Tunku Putra-HELP utilises the International Primary Curriculum, and is the first school in Kuching and the 35th school in the world to receive this esteemed accreditation.
The IPC is a comprehensive, thematic, creative curriculum with a clear process of learning and specific learning goals for every subject, international mindedness, and for personal learning.

At Tunku Putra-HELP, our upper secondary students will get the chance to participate in the The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, a prestigious award that equips young people with the skills they need for life. These skills are transferable and it helps to increase their fitness levels, cultivate a sense of adventure and volunteering in their community as well as helping young people to find their purpose, passion and place in the world.
Students of Tingkatan 4 & 5 and Year 10, 11 & 12 are encouraged to participate in the International Award. For more information, please visit http://intaward.org

At Tunku Putra-HELP, we believe that education should change the way in which students see the world. Our task is to develop a love for learning that will last a lifetime. We develop students who are curious, who are able to ask critical questions, and who are able to navigate a complex world.
We provide a safe, stimulating environment where our students thrive. We believe that to flourish intellectually and succeed academically, children need to be happy, supported and cared for. We are ambitious for our young people, so we challenge and support them to achieve the highest academic outcomes. Our students have opportunities to flourish beyond the classroom and thrive in their intellectual, social, physical, artistic, creative, and spiritual development.
As teachers and leaders, we are committed to ongoing professional learning and research-led education. Our teachers are well-qualified, experienced, and passionate about what they do; the child is at the centre of every decision we make. Our philosophy is to be the best we can be.
We are committed to building a strong partnership with parents. We know that choosing a school for your child is an act of trust, and we strive to be a school which listens to our stakeholders.
We are a values-driven community. Integrity, intellectual curiosity, collaboration, respect, humility, and compassion underpin everything we do. Everyone in our School – no matter who they are or what they do – works towards embodying our values.
Our students are future leaders and role models. We imbue our students with a sense of personal initiative and prepare them to make ethical choices and to become changemakers with a shared responsibility for their society – locally, nationally, globally.
This is a school with deep roots in Sarawakian soil. We are proud of where we come from – historically as the first international school in Kuching, and geographically as a school which celebrates and values our unique and beautiful environment.
We are a vibrant, stimulating and warm-hearted community. Our students are individuals: known, valued, cared for. I warmly welcome you to visit us to learn more about how we can support your child.
