In a remarkable initiative to address the often-overlooked transition phase from kindergarten to primary school, Tunku Putra-HELP (TPH) and Association of Kindergarten Operators Sarawak (AKO) organised a panel discussion  that extended valuable insights and support to educators and kindergarten operators. The event, which took place on 21 October 2023, at Tunku Putra-HELP’s campus, witnessed the participation of over 35 passionate educators representing more than 15 different kindergartens in Kuching.

The panel discussion served as a dynamic platform for educators to delve into the requirements for primary education, thus equipping them with invaluable strategies to prepare young learners and their parents for a seamless transition. It aimed to alleviate the challenges faced during this pivotal phase and ensure that every child embarks on their primary education journey with the best possible start.

Tunku Putra-HELP (TPH), a member of The HELP Group of Schools, took the lead in addressing this critical educational transition. Expert panellists consisted of Dr. Gerard Louis, CEO of the HELP Group of Schools, Ms. Tiong Ing Mee, the Head of National Primary at TPH, and Ms. Adya Sharma, the Head of International Primary at TPH, guided the attendees through a comprehensive range of topics, including the various stages of child development, academic requirements and social skills development tailored to young learners. The discussion provided an in-depth understanding of the aspects involved in preparing children for primary education.

Dr. Gerard Louis, stated, “We believe in the power of collaboration and knowledge-sharing in the field of education. By offering this panel discussion, we aim to empower educators to make a positive impact on the young learners and parents they serve.”

The attendees were also given a unique opportunity to connect and build a support network among their peers. This created a platform for sharing experiences, learning from one another, and forging meaningful connections. It reinforced the spirit of cooperation and mutual growth in the education sector.

The decision to initiate this platform reflects Tunku Putra-HELP’s commitment to make concerted efforts to ensure a seamless transition for children from kindergarten to primary education, and to make this platform accessible to all educators and kindergarten operators.
