Tunku Putra-HELP School (TPH) recently welcomed students and a teacher, Ms Momoka, from Chimneys English School in Fukuoka, Japan, for a two-week student exchange programme.
During their time at TPH, the visiting students took part in classroom learning, buddy activities and everyday school life, giving them the opportunity to experience the TPH community while making new friends across different year groups.
The exchange extended beyond the school campus, with the visiting students also having the opportunity to experience the culture, hospitality and natural beauty of Kuching and Sarawak.

International exchanges such as this provide students with valuable opportunities to learn beyond the classroom. Through shared experiences and daily interactions, students develop greater cultural understanding, build meaningful friendships and gain confidence in communicating across different languages and backgrounds.
The programme was made possible through the support of the students’ buddies, host families, teachers and members of the TPH community who helped make the visit a memorable experience for everyone involved.

The exchange will continue later this year, with TPH students scheduled to travel to Fukuoka in July for the Summer School Programme at Chimneys English School. The reciprocal nature of the programme gives students from both schools the opportunity to experience each other’s cultures, schools and communities while building friendships that extend beyond the exchange itself.
TPH looks forward to welcoming future students from Chimneys English School and continuing this meaningful partnership between the two schools.
