A Rich History of Academic Excellence
Named after the first Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haji, Tunku Putra School was set up by Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad (CMSB) in 1996 as the first international school in Sarawak. 20 years later, the School has grown to over 600 students, represented by 20 nationalities.
In March 2018, CMSB collaborated with the HELP Education Group and Ibraco Berhad, to embark on an exciting journey in educational growth by establishing the Tunku Putra-HELP in Kuching. Located strategically in the NorthBank,Tabuan Jaya, the residential heart of Kuching, the school’s new purpose-built campus can accommodate up to 1,500 students.
The HELP Education Group is one of the leading education groups in Malaysia with 30 years of experience and over 11,000 students in its various institutions. For 30 years, HELP has nurtured achievers to secure scholarships to study in world-class universities like Oxford, Cambridge, Princeton and Harvard. It has also set up two other highly successful international schools – HELP International School in Kuala Lumpur and Crescendo-HELP International School in Johor Bahru. Both schools focus on a holistic and all-round education model, combining the best of Western and Eastern values, and backed by research-led education programme supported by HELP University’s Faculty of Education and Languages and the Faculty of Behavioural Science with its world-renowned Psychology Department.
